I'm a big believer in vacations as a couple. They bring you together, get you away and allow you to reconnect. There's also all the fun of seeing exactly how compatible you are and how easily you can laugh with each other during travel stress, flight delays, packing, traffic - it really brings out the best in us.
We've been throwing around (we being the kid and I - not to be confused with the baby and I) have been throwing around the idea of escaping on a babymoon. One last hooray as just the two of us before guilt and logistics become just too much for a escape as just a couple.
His parents work for an airline company and were gracious enough to offer us a pair of dependent tickets, meaning if the flights are bare and we're willing to not know where we're sitting till we get there we'd get to fly free. But with the holidays coming and having only the beginning of January able to fly after it's looking less and less likely like a far off destination is in our grasp.
So could a stay-cation become a babymoon?
We live in the San Antonio area and fully utilize our immediate surroundings and venues for adventure. But how often do you really leave the stress of home behind, check into a nice hotel get a little pampered and do just whatever you want with no agenda. Never.
What do you think? Stay-cation hotel/spa babymoon worth it or save that money and enjoy home while it's quiet?

GO GO GO! Traveling will never be the same again. Traveling with kids is hard. Leaving the kids behind is hard. Go while the gettins good :)
ReplyDeleteTraveling is great idea! It's absolutely different time than just stay at home. Money come and go, you save now but spend tomorrow for something else..Don't hesitate, just go!

ReplyDeleteI am a huge believer in staycations. Sometimes, you just need a little R&R that can be done at home - no need to go anywhere!
ReplyDeletei think wherever you two go whether actually getting away or a stay-cation since it is you two together i don't think the location really matters. do whatever makes you two happy and just enjoy the last few months or weeks of it being just you two!
ReplyDeleteI think that a staycation only counts if you're the kind of person that can actually leave your troubles and worries at home. Especially if you don't think you'll be getting away for a while, go treat yourself!
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
Sabrina
I say go traveling, and make the most of your alone time! I know this post is from awhile ago - I hope whatever you guys decided you had a blast!
ReplyDeleteI know this post is a little older but I had to comment any ways! My husband and I are planning our babymoon right now too! We don't have the money I'd hoped to have saved up by now, which is of course frustrating, but we are making the best of it and getting away any ways because we know we've just got to relish this time together!
ReplyDeleteI think a staycation (in a hotel, not in your house where there are dishes and laundry and various other tasks competing for your attention) sounds just as lovely as a big trip so whichever you do/did, I know it'll be the perfect choice! =]
